About Me

I’m Hannah, 34, living in the house my husband Nate grew up in in Philly.  This is a big change for me as I grew up on a 300 year old farm, where my closest neighbor was over a ½ mile away.  Now we’re in a row-house that is in much need of repair, and is complete with acoustics that allow us  to hear exactly when my neighbors are having sex (amongst other things).

I work full time for the state, and part time as a private tutor, and if that weren't enough to keep me busy, I recently started a pet photography business.  I really could live without my work at the State, but as that pays the bills and all important health insurance,  it stays for now. I’m passionate about family, teaching, animals, photography, and books.

Teaching is how I met my fabulous husband.  Basically, I had just moved out on my own, and found living expenses to be more than my state salary, thus necessitating a part time job.   I had taught Biology and Chemistry in college, and so began to teach part time for a local private school.  All new teachers had to go through an orientation, and it was there that I met the new Social Studies and German teacher.  He was larger than life – witty, kind of obnoxious, and funny as hell.  And someday, I’ll have to tell you our story.  It’s a good one, if I do say so myself.

And this blog is about our story – where we’ve come from and where we’re going.  For the past few years I’ve been a lurker on some fabulous blogs.  I’ve known the joy of sharing the stories and lives of some truly amazing women.  I have been truly touched and would have been content to keep lurking indefinitely.  But to my surprise, I have found a growing feeling that I have something to share as well.   So if you like, I’d be delighted if you joined me in this brand new adventure. . .
